Observations from a Wobbly Perch.

The only things certain in life are Death and Taxes.
My state is offering tax free days on school supplies. Should I keep hoping for immortality?

Television Drug Commercials
Why is it that now a days we are peppered with commercials for drugs to treat diseases we’ve never heard of before? Both are usually impossible to pronounce. Can anyone remember when if we didn’t feel well we went to a DOCTOR?

Writer’s Block
Google reports 4.1 million hits on “Writer’s block.” Roughly speaking that’s 4.1 million people writing about not being able to write.

Insurance Claims
Recently my car was hit by a slow moving car in a commercial parking lot. The damage seemed slight, but I needed it repaired. I called my company and reported that I was hit. That started a nearly hour long procedure which involved three people each of whom wanted to know everything about the accident. I’ve watched those crime shows on TV where the bad cop badgers the witness until they finally admit to starting World War II. That’s how I feel right now. I’m even beginning to think that perhaps that Gecko is the friendliest “person” in the insurance game, and he’s not even from America.

Lottery Jackpot
The latest really big multi-state lottery hasn’t been won in a while so the payout is now in the 9 figure range. People are rushing out to buy a ticket to the “BIG” one. Was there something about only winning one million dollars that kept them in their homes?

Sexual Preference
Why is some actor stating their sexual preference a news story? Now if it were my wife, that’s a different matter entirely.
