Top Secret
Memorandum: Performance Evaluation
To: Jolly Old
From: Product Testing Division
The Testing Division is happy to report that there were no observations of the sleigh on Xmas or Xmas Eve. There was a fake sighting reported by NORAD (North American Aerospace & Defense Command) but it was determined that they were reporting false data to simulate what it would look like to be able to follow your progress. We are recommending that they be probationally placed on the Naughty List.
As Product Development (PD) promised the new Stealth coating managed to deflect any known radar. There were a few partial breaches of your security due to inferred detectors. As you may recall the PD elves warned that insisting on the color red might result in a less than perfect cloak. We are recommending that for the next flight you refrain from your usual hot chocolate before take-off.
Post flight examination of the runners on the sleigh revealed microscopic scratches. We suspect they were caused by your landing on slate roofs. Other than avoiding those homes we have no immediate solution for the problem. This year those scratches didn’t cause any problems but we believe that repeated abrasions may cause the Stealth coating to fail. For the current problem we are going to re-coat the runners, and will work with the PD folks to develop a tougher finish for the coating.
Over all we are pleased with the performance of the coating. We know that you were concerned that detection of the sleigh might be a problem in those parts of the world where they are shooting down anything in the air. The so-called “Drone Warfare” has caused many people to suspect anything in the air that they cannot immediately identify. As you know there are portions of the world where belief in you is spotty at best. The children still try to hold on to what they have heard. In this the internet has proven useful. While the adults in certain cultures reject you, the children are able to search out information about you and can hold on to believing in you despite what they are told by the adults in the area.
Our bottom line on this is that the coating worked as promised and you should remain confident that your travels remain undetected.
